Calanova – lots of space, peace and quiet
The Calanova area is located north of the small romantic fishing village of La Cala de Mijas. It is an obvious place to holiday or establish yourself if you play golf and like an evening on the terrace overlooking the African continent.
In addition to being a paradise for golfers, Calanova has the advantage, in the area is just a few minutes drive from the trendy of la Cala de Mijas, which until quite a few years ago was just a small cozy fishing village. Easy access to the entire Mijas Costa
If you live in Calanova, la Cala de Mijas will be the obvious place to do your shopping as well as go out and eat and have a drink. There is activity in the small town, which has a street market twice a week – both a traditional market with clothes and things as well as an eco-market with the best organic ingredients that the area has to offer, always in season.
However, the location in Calanova, which is also close to the toll motorway, means that you have easy access in both directions. The area can be reached in 30 minutes from the airport and in 15 minutes you can be in the center of Marbella. Calanova Golf
The Calanova area is also colloquially called ‘Calanova Golf’, which comes from the 18-hole course (par 72) that nicely lines the valley down to the Mediterranean. From the homes above the golf course, which i.a. includes Calanova Grand Golf, it may actually look as if the golf course extends all the way into the water.
The Calanova Golf golf course is probably the course on the Sun Coast that has undergone the biggest improvements in recent years. It has gone from being a very average course to a course that is highly recommended. You get a lot for your money, but it is also a challenging course. The clubhouse itself exudes cosiness and good service. Calanova Golf Course is not a pretentious golf club – it is the opposite of a relevant course with a good atmosphere, where the focus is on having fun while playing. And subsequently on hole 19, of course.
If there is one thing that characterizes this golf course, it is space. The course is a little higher than most golf courses on the Costa del Sol, but you have been able to spread your wings in terms of design, which is reflected in the layout of the course as well as in the newly built clubhouse, which is wildly impressive. In addition, Calanova Golf has by far the largest Pro-shop on the coast with two floors and many great offers.

What you typically get when you move a little away from the shore is space – lots of space. It is no different for the homes around Calanova Golf, where the urbanization Calanova Grand Golf can be highlighted as a fine example. Space and views are what you get when you are set to drive a few minutes further up the road.
